Berlin photo archives
With the summer drawing to a close my thoughts are turning more and more towards my dissertation which as yet is to pinned down but I envisage will focus on the architecture of GDR rule within East Germany and its use as a tool of propaganda. I am currently planning a visit to Berlin and have began to collect images from the period which can perhaps be used to compare and contrast with the current state of the city. On the visit I hope to explore the legacy which remains of this period of building, the Television Tower which still stands as an icon of the city and the ruminants of The Palace of the Republic. These two sites I've found of great interest, full of interesting photos of ordinary life, events and the changing nature of the cities fabric during this period.
